Dutch Mental health care struggles with ever-growing capacity problems. As a consequence, an unacceptable number of people in direct need of care do not receive the help they so desperately need. And although the capacity issue is complex, the use of really well-functioning digital solutions such as targeted applications, data exchange, and interoperability can provide substantial relief in a relatively short period of time.
By using (open) standards and smart technological solutions for data exchange, we create secure, sustainable, targeted systems that contribute enormously to the more efficient and effective use of digital resources in healthcare. We offer advanced integration solutions for digital mental healthcare, based on standards such as ‘FHIR/HL7’ and ‘Koppeltaal GGZ’.
It's not just about technology. We are convinced that close cooperation with stakeholders and the market entry of innovative startups will make healthcare more accessible. This creates an ecosystem of specialised applications, in which the healthcare sector as a whole, may benefit from a wider choice of providers and interchangeability of applications.
We value pre-competitive collaboration for the development of new open standards that contribute to secure, scalable communication between clients & patients, and healthcare providers. To reinforce this, we have joined ‘Stichting Beter met Elkaar’ (Better with Each Other Foundation), where GIDS works on open standards and NUTS in close collaboration with Miles Ahead.
In 2013, Headease's mother company EDIA was asked by Dutch major mental health care providers ‘Zorgaanbieders online’ and ‘Bouman GGZ’ to use apply EDIA’s expertise in education technology to digital mental health care. This led to the development of award-winning e-mental health interventions (awarded by the ‘Trimbos Institute’) and a revolutionary Client Portal. All in collaboration with Antes (formerly Bouman GGZ) and Healthcare Providers Online.
Within EDIA these developments led to the creation of a dedicated team specialized in e-health solutions. This team has been involved in several digital healthcare innovations and initiatives in recent years. In 2019, it was decided to transfer this experience to its own organization: Headease.
